- Charley Creek | URO Corp
CHARLEY CREEK Huge area of multiple tenements located close to Alice Springs on the southern margin of the North Australian Craton, boasts rich mineral resource potential, particularly in rare earth elements, gold, base metals, and uranium. Geological features like the MacDonnell Ranges and Teapot Granite, coupled with strategic exploration efforts position it as a promising area for discovering valuable mineral deposits. Charley Creek Base Metals Project Charley Creek Gold Project Au, Zn, Cu, Ni, Sn, PGE, U Regional Geology Charley Creek is located on the southern margin of the North Australian Craton. It encompasses the Arunta Block's central region, rich in mineral resources. Geological formations in the area hold substantial mineral resource potential and is part of the ancient and stable North Australian Craton. Dominant geological feature is the MacDonnell Ranges. The ranges consist of a sequence of metamorphic rocks, intruded by formations like the Teapot Granite. Teapot Granite within the MacDonnell Ranges: Source rock of uranium, base metal and Rare Earth Elements. Diverse Minerals: Comprised mainly of mid-late Paleoproterozoic mid to high-grade metamorphic rocks. Area hosts a variety of minerals due to its unique geological history. Varied rock formations and processes contribute to mineral diversity. Rocks underwent multiple uplift stages, including the recent Alice Springs Orogeny (400-300MA). Mineral Resource Potential: Geological features suggest promising mineral resource opportunities. Geological conditions enhance the likelihood of discovering valuable resources. Mineral-rich geological formations present economic opportunities. Rare Earth Prospects: Prospective for high-grade rare earth elements due to Chewings Event influence, evidenced by mineralization at Nolan’s Bore. Exploration Focus: Attracts significant exploration efforts due to its geological significance. There has been detailed mapping helps reveal the area's mineralization patterns, with continued exploration aims to uncover valuable mineral deposits. Strategic Location: Central Province's position offers insights into the region's geological evolution. Sustainable Exploration: Responsible exploration considers the region's geological and environmental aspects. Diverse Exploration Targets: The Charley Creek Project focuses on rare earth elements, gold, base metals and uranium, aiming to uncover valuable mineralization prospects. Notable Discoveries made by URO: The field trip revealed significant potential for gold and base metals, with remarkable alluvial rare earth targets identified north of the MacDonnell Ranges. Conceptual Promise: A conceptual target for hard rock rare earth elements shows promise, necessitating further evidence to solidify its assessment. Comprehensive Soil Sampling: Over 1000 soil samples from Quaternary alluvium have been collected for meticulous analysis, playing a critical role in achieving resource compliance before public listing. Orogenic Gold Potential : Prospective orogenic gold prospects have been identified north of the Hann Range, supported by indicators like artisanal workings, geochemical markers, and neighbouring intrusives. Strategic Sampling Approach: Detailed follow-up sampling of quartz blow samples is employed, featuring fire assay, multi-element ICP analysis, residual soil sampling, and handheld XRF for gold pathfinders. Challenges and Solutions: Challenges in exploring the MacDonnell Ranges are tackled by introducing satellite imagery and drone-based hyperspectral analysis for efficient alteration mapping. Key Spectral Targets: Quartz carbonate mineralization, sericite alteration, and clay-rich residual soils are focal points for spectral study, enabling precise identification of potential mineral assemblages. Radiometric Survey Proposal : Detecting areas with high Thorium through a higher-resolution radiometric survey aids in pinpointing potential mineralization zones. Significant Quartz Vein Systems : Quartz/carbonate vein systems show promise, particularly if anomalous gold is confirmed through fire assay. Unveiling Base Metal Connections: Residual soil sampling offers the possibility of uncovering links between base metals and buried intrusions. Layered mafics as a copper-nickel targets. Comprehensive Spectral Study: Conducting a spectral study across the entire tenement package is anticipated to reveal a wide range of targets, including alteration zones, mineralization, and outcrops.
